Pranav Sood was born in Punjab, India and lives in Brooklyn, NY. He works primarily with acrylic, gouache, and watercolors both on canvas and paper. He depicts his unconscious psychosocial experiences in the themes of his expanded development of empathy, emotional turmoil, and turbulence, and new challenges faced within the expansive dimensions of maintaining an intentionally durable loving relationship.
Sood is influenced from miniature painting and received an MFA in painting from University of Wisconsin-Madison. His solo shows include Life is about love & love is complicated (Abel Contemporary gallery and Al Ringling Theater gallery, 2020), Little thing called Love (Edgewood Art college and UW-Madison, 2020 and 2019).
Sood is also included in a juried group exhibition at Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (Wisconsin Triennial 2019-2020) and a curated in a group exhibition: Ancient Modern (Abel contemporary gallery, 2020). His work has been written about in the Madison essentials magazine, The Wisconsin state journal, Baraboo news republic, the cap times, and Isthmus.
